The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, now in its 39th year, is known as the premier 4th of July celebration in the nation. Every year since its inception, hundreds of thousands of people travel from all over the country to the banks of the Charles River to celebrate America’s July 4th birthday.
This year promises to be another incredible show with a special performance by Academy Award-Winning Jennifer Hudson. The Spectacular will be hosted by Emmy Award Winner Michael Chiklis and features the well-known Boston Pops led by conductor, Keith Lockhart.
The Boston Pops Concert on July 4th begins at 8:20pm with the National Anthem. It includes the now classic Independence Day rendition of Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” which features real cannons, the live ringing of church bells and fireworks. The concert concludes with “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and the traditional ceremonial American flag drop and confetti shot. The Spectacular is capped off at 10:35pm by a breathtaking array of magnificent fireworks that fill Boston’s skyline with its stunning display of color and pageantry.
