Hudson, NH – Benson’s Wild Animal Farm is Now a Public Park

Nov 17, 2010 | Judy Sullivan | Categories : NH News and Events | 5 Comments

Do you remember Benson’s Wild Animal Farm in Hudson, NH from when you were a child?

In May of 2010 it reopened as a town park for recreational use. It’s free. The park has been rehabilitated for the trails and remaining buildings such as the Gorilla House & the Elephant House. During fall, it is a great time to bring your pets and family, or go for a jog, bike ride, or a brisk walk. The park contains miles of trails, as well as many beautiful lakes and ponds.

Get out there and check it out. Here is the link to the park brochure: http://www.bensonsanimalfarm.com/ParkBrochure.pdf.

wow! So different from when I was a child. Next time I am in the area I will have to go stop by. Something new I can share with my kids. :)

That's right near us, we should go sometime!

Are there public restrooms?

Not sure Karyn, but here is a list of the Benson’s board members. A few of them have email contact info – I’m sure they have the answer!

My first visit today left me feeling very happy. The Friends of Bensons have done a wonderful job of fixing up the park. I enjoyed my walk today, so peaceful and calming. The 911 memorial is beautiful and seeing the original buildings and markers to some long gone sights brought back memories. I will be back again. Thank you to all of the Friends of Bensons for all your hard work.
